Freelance copywriting is a natural spin-off of years of work as a writer in various capacities in both the corporate and non-profit sectors...

As Project Manager for Mambo Media, a web design, development, and marketing company, I oversee and maintain the website of WestPoint Home. I research and write site content for this major Mambo Media client with a data base of 150,000 – including articles, product descriptions, banners, and seasonal and industry trend reports. I develop creatives for emailers and sweepstakes including graphic layout along with taglines, content and product selection. And I upload content and images.

As Grants & Sponsorships Manager for the Seattle Symphony, I wrote all grants – public and private – including both corporate sponsorships and successful NEA grant requests for inaugural Symphony CD recordings that today number over 100. I researched funding sources, contributed newsletter content and worked closely with the marketing department in fulfilling sponsor requirements.

As Development Director for Seattle’s former Bathhouse Theatre, I developed the annual fund drive, writing direct fund appeals and follow-ups, grant requests and special event invites. And as Events Coordinator for the 1,100 seat Pantages Centre for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, WA, I oversaw contract negotiations, developed and wrote job descriptions, employee manuals and special event brochures, and managed design of all other printed collateral for the Center.

Other marketing experience has included that of Marketing Associate with the former San Francisco-based film animation production company Colossal Pictures. Writing duties included press releases and packets, company bios, special event and promotional materials, royalty requests, and newsletters.

These are just copywriting and graphics related career highlights. Check out the side bar. Geographically, my endeavors have brought me from Seattle to San Francisco to New York and back to the West Coast again, where I currently reside in Lake Oswego, Oregon – just minutes from Portland.
